A Parenting Tip
This parenting tip is simply from my own personal parenting experience in developing parenting skills as I raised my children and discovered joyous techniques that got optimal results.
I'll start with something I tried when I brought my first baby home and discovered something unexpected. I read a short book to my baby the first night she was home since studies had talked about the significance of what children learn from age 0-5. At the end the story said "wave goodbye to the engineer!" and my daughter's had went up in the air! (Well, it was probably coincidental, but it was fun...)
I did have the joyful experience of being present when my husband's son brought home their first baby. The dad had read a story to the baby every night while in the womb. When we were all standing around after the mother had the baby home, the father said something from across the room. The newborn baby twisted around in the direction of his father's voice. (And I do not think that was a coincidence.) For me that was a confirmation of all I had heard about babies learning while in the womb and from age 0.
Do you have any similar stories to share? I'd love to hear them.
Warmly,
